Brake Repair Omaha

Brake Repair Technician AAMCO OmahaWe will not only make sure your car runs efficiently, but we can also make sure it stops safely as well. Your brakes are a fundamental part of auto maintenance, and having an AAMCO certified professional by your side will ensure that your vehicle is always performing at its best.

Here at AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care of Omaha, we believe that preventative maintenance is the best way to avoid expensive repairs and stay safe on the road, which is why it's important to spot the early signs of brake pad wear:

Audible Signs
Almost all brake pads now have wear indicators which will contact the rotor when the friction material wears down to a certain point (approximately 1/4 inch). They won't damage your rotors, but ignoring them will eventually allow the friction material to erode to the steel backing, at which point you risk seriously compromising your entire brake system.

Visual Signs
A follow-up visual inspection can identify problems in the rotors such as scoring, warping, or glazing. The rotor surface should look completely smooth with no signs of deep scores. Wear indicators may rust or fall off, so be sure to periodically examine the pad thickness.

AAMCO of Omaha service specialists can resurface mildly damaged rotors, but replacements can easily add hundreds of dollars to the cost of regular brake pad replacements. Additionally, servicing the rest of your brake system at least once a year will ensure that you don't run into any unexpected problems in the future.

AAMCO Brake System Service includes:

  • A comprehensive visual inspection
  • Replacement of worn pads and shoes as needed
  • Replacement of other mechanical components based on inspection
  • Repacked wheel bearings
  • Lubrication as needed
  • Resurfacing for damaged rotors and drums (if the damage is not excessive)
  • Brake fluid flush
  • Parking brake adjustment
  • A comprehensive road test upon completion
